When Roy Orbison died in 1988, it was left to others to bring his music to the concert stage. No easy task. But Barry Steele comes with very good credentials and a genuine admiration for the Big "O."
Barry Steele who portrays the Big O has toured extensively across the UK, Denmark, New Zealand, Holland, Belgium and Germany. He performed as Roy Orbison to rave reviews in the hit show "Rockin on Heavens Door," before leaving in April 2009 to concentrate on his own show. He has been described by the stage newspaper as "Brilliant" and the Wanganui Chronicle in New Zealand stated "Barry Steele has a range to match the master."
Barry Steele puts the rock back into "Roy Orbison" as he takes to the stage to celebrate Roy Orbison’s 75th birthday accompanied by his 5 piece band. With an upbeat and contemporary slant on Roy Orbison’s legacy, Barry will take you on a musical journey from the early Sun year’s right through to the late 1980’, when Roy was experiencing a huge resurgence in popularity, and was working along side George Harrison, Bono, & Jeff Lynne, Bruce Springtein and many many more.
With full support from Barry’s fabulous five piece show band, who will also perform hits from The Shadows, Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis., and of course appearances from our very special guests,"This show is the ultimate musical experience."
